WAM Tech Talks 4.0 – Interview with Katrien Meire
1. What inspired WorkNomads to take part in WAM Saudi, and how does this event align with your company’s mission?
WorkNomads was motivated to take part in WAM Saudi by the Saudi Arabia’s ambition to lead the next wave of industrial and digital transformation. This event offers a valuable opportunity to engage with forward-thinking partners, exchange knowledge, and explore opportunities for long-term collaboration. It is a practical step toward our goal of combining global talent and innovation to solve real-world challenges.
2. WAM Saudi emphasizes digital transformation and advanced technologies - how is WorkNomads leveraging innovation to help businesses adapt to these shifts?
At WorkNomads, we design and develop tailored industrial engineering solutions that help businesses navigate change and achieve measurable results. These solutions are built to support fast, informed decision-making and deliver immediate business impact.
Our expertise includes process simulations, AI-powered ICT engineering, and autonomous manufacturing. We develop and integrate both hardware and software components to create reliable, scalable systems that improve performance and reduce operational complexity. We work closely with our partners to turn technical challenges into practical, outcome-driven solutions – helping them move with speed, operate more efficiently, and stay competitive in the rapid global demands market.
3. Are there specific challenges you’ve faced when bringing creative strategies into technically driven or highly regulated sectors?
Yes. In highly regulated industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, and defense.
The main challenges often involve inflexible systems, disconnected data, and heavy processes that drain time and resources. These sectors are also shaped by strict compliance requirements and slow-to-adapt structures, which can make it difficult to introduce change or improve operational flow.
We take on these challenges by combining secure, in-house AI tools with a broader engineering approach tailored to high-compliance environments. Our solutions help automate manual tasks, connect fragmented data streams, and improve overall process visibility. At the same time, we focus on optimizing production workflows and regulatory demands - making sure our solutions are practical and complimentary to the existing systems. By addressing both the technical and operational barriers, we help organizations work more efficiently without compromising quality, safety, or compliance.
4. Looking ahead, what opportunities do you see in Saudi Arabia’s transformation journey for a company like WorkNomads?
WAM Saudi is a key opportunity for WorkNomads to connect with leaders and companies driving industrial innovation in the region. We are here to explore how emerging technologies, especially industrial AI and process simulation, can be used to solve real-world challenges and make a fast impact. Our goal is to build strategic partnerships, share our expertise, and identify projects where we can apply our solutions. We see this event as a launchpad for deeper engagement in the region and a chance to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s vision for a digitally advanced industrial sector.
Saudi Arabia’s transformation into a high-tech, digitally enabled economy presents significant opportunities for a company like WorkNomads. With initiatives such as Humain, Project Transcendence, and the rollout of large-scale digital twin projects in cities like Riyadh and Jeddah, the Kingdom is laying the groundwork for one of the most advanced digital ecosystems globally and we are ready to contribute.
This national focus on AI, digital infrastructure, and smart cities is well aligned with our core strengths. Our in-house AI systems, digital twinning capabilities, and process simulation technologies are built to support complex, high-performance environments, making us well positioned to contribute to Saudi Arabia’s transformation.
We also see increasing demand for our BIM and MEP engineering expertise across giga-projects, including NEOM and other smart urban developments. As Saudi Arabia adopts forward-looking frameworks such as Industry 5.0 and Web3, we recognize the growing importance of technologies that combine physical infrastructure with intelligent systems. For us, Saudi Arabia is not just a market – it is a strategic partner in shaping the future of the region’s industrial and digital landscape.
